Victims of Crime Act (VOCA)

Pathways’ VOCA program is dedicated to increasing accessibility to behavioral health services for victims of abuse, neglect, and family violence in Bexar County and eleven rural counties surrounding San Antonio. Barriers to accessing services in our rural areas include a lack of quality behavioral health providers in or near victims’ home communities, limited appointment availability, transportation issues, confidentiality concerns, and community perceptions about seeking help or participating in behavioral health services. The Pathways’ VOCA program can overcome many of these barriers through telehealth services and face-to-face therapy and support, when appropriate.

Who Qualifies?

The Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) program serves children, adolescent, and adult survivors who have experienced abuse, neglect, assault or family violence. We aim to increase accessibility to behavioral health services in the rural communities, and serve victims across Bexar County and all surrounding counties including Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, and Wilson.
